House at Tanjung Bungah
The brief
A new-build family house on a north-facing slope. The clients asked for somewhere quiet enough to work from, and open enough to host four generations across Hari Raya weekends.
The approach
We worked with the architect from foundations through fit-out. The plan is organised around a single timber-lined corridor that opens to a covered terrace at every other room. Interior surfaces are reduced to three: lime-washed walls, cengal floors, and a single run of brushed-steel kitchen joinery that anchors the social end of the house.
We stopped explaining what we wanted halfway through the first meeting. They had already understood.
